One of the biggest production challenges we face here in the suburbs of Dakar – very near the ocean — is keeping our filling line equipment free of sand.
People in our neighborhood sweep their floors several times a day. The sand dust is so fine you can’t see it but it’s as much a part of the atmosphere as is oxygen. So, as long as one needs to breath, there is no escaping the dust.
Household TV sets are one of the biggest common casualties of sand dust in this area of Senegal. As for our equipment, we’ll be cleaning it quite often!

Walter,
Remember that gentleman that had the special removeable filters for the home? Perhaps that could be the solution to the sand?
